I disagree with the concept of the government supporting marriage for gays because religion belief is mostly faith based and have no proof whether our maker exists or DOES NOT exist. Even if I support civil union, the government does not have the right to support marriages regardless of what religion the marriage is based on. If Orson Scott Card ever take up arms about government, I would believe he would be within his right to do so ONLY if the government supports gay marriage in his religion, Mormon religion, I believe. If the government wants to avoid another Waco, the government would have to stay middle of the road by only supporting civil union. If there will be any violent overthrow, I would be verbally supportive of Orson Scott Card's action but won't be shooting at anyone because religion belief is not worth killing.

This is quite disturbing. It makes me wonder what's going on in his personal life that would motivate him to murder over something like gay marriage. Perhaps he's a closeted gay man who can't deal with those feelings, or he was molested as a child and thinks all gay people are evil molesters. That kind of violent hatred comes from a deeply personal place.

I know many people who think gay marriage should not be legal, but very few would be driven to murder over the issue. It's a shame he is such a whackaloon.

If his kind takes up arms and tries to overthrow the government, (or starts shooting up gay bars and other *liberal* places), I too will be there... standing between them and their intended targets.
